I’m watching the International Football on tv at present which is a cross of Gaelic football and Australian Rules Football. As far as i can tell the objective is to kick the ball through one of several goals for differing numbers of points with the winner obviously being the one with the most points at the end of the game.
Someone really needs to point out the scoring aspect of the game. Both seem to have the primary objective to wipe out the other team with punches, head high tackles and coat hangers being thrown around fairly freely and scoring is only a secondary objective. I’m pleased to report that Australia is doing far better at the scoring part of the game but its still making the game look more like a game of ping pong crossed with a raging street brawl with all the players on speed or something. I’m surprised no one was carried off during the first two quarters.
All i can say for the second half is bring it on.

We played a similar game in primary school using a volleyball.
as far as I can tell these guys are using a similar rule set.
1. As long as no one comes away bleeding profusely anything goes
2. … well there was no 2

It was definitely weird. For a while they got bored with brawling and moved back to the idea of trying to score goals or points or what ever they are called and then they just went back to fighting again.
I suspect in the end Australia won on fighting skills rather than goal kicking
