Sunday night in front of the tv and the season finale of CSI is on the tv. Every ad break there are advertisements for other shows on during the week and so far in the breaks that have been on so far 5 different shows are having their end of season final this week and we are condemed to the hell that is the christmas tv season.
Talking of christmas, i read an article today about politcal correctness and the fact that in respect of non christian beliefs there is not going to be christmas this year and it will instead be referred to as the holiday season. I don’t know at this stage if christmas day is still referred to as such or whether its something like holiday season epicentre but with over a month to go I expect it will come clear soon. And stranger still with over a month to go the holiday season has already cost one person their job when they inadvertantly tried explaining the origin of the holiday season and christmas.

When the xmas lights were put on in Oxford St, London this year I heard that they have now been re-named “Winter Lights” so as to avoid offending anyone. Our local shopping mall (which is the third biggest in the country) is not having a tree this year so as to not offend anyone either… soon Christmas will be obsolete and no one will know why they exchange presents anymore. How long do ya reckon until decorations are no longer sold?

Apparantly christmas trees are being sold as holiday decorations in some places rather than xmas trees very odd.
As for the meaning of christmas, i think that was lost long ago about the times stores started putting out christmas stuff in september …

Well yes it was lost to an extent a long time ago but we are still aware of where xmas comes from. I mean that the actual meaning, the history of christmas will be lost. As commercialised as christmas has become, it hasnt happened yet but it is on its way.
I ask what about the other religions who are not christians but celebrate christmas as if they are? Ive heard numerous stories of non-christian familys getting the old tree out, exchanging gifts on the 25th and having a big roast dinner but is anyone looking at how that weakens the meaning of christmas for christians?!! Its okay to offend unless youre not mainsteam western!
