When the xmas lights were put on in Oxford St, London this year I heard that they have now been re-named “Winter Lights” so as to avoid offending anyone. Our local shopping mall (which is the third biggest in the country) is not having a tree this year so as to not offend anyone either… soon Christmas will be obsolete and no one will know why they exchange presents anymore. How long do ya reckon until decorations are no longer sold?

Apparantly christmas trees are being sold as holiday decorations in some places rather than xmas trees very odd.
As for the meaning of christmas, i think that was lost long ago about the times stores started putting out christmas stuff in september …

Well yes it was lost to an extent a long time ago but we are still aware of where xmas comes from. I mean that the actual meaning, the history of christmas will be lost. As commercialised as christmas has become, it hasnt happened yet but it is on its way.

I ask what about the other religions who are not christians but celebrate christmas as if they are? Ive heard numerous stories of non-christian familys getting the old tree out, exchanging gifts on the 25th and having a big roast dinner but is anyone looking at how that weakens the meaning of christmas for christians?!! Its okay to offend unless youre not mainsteam western!
