I bought one of these today.

Its a Canon EOS 3000N which is a film camera with a 28/80 lens. While the idea of digital was temping, financial reality was such that I really couldn’t justify that kind of money on a camera. Strangely while i can operate the camera on manual settings ok, automatic is still a puzzle for me. I could read the instructions i suppose but by that time i could have taken the picture and moved on.
I spent some of my day taking photos and have a film to be developed already. Some of the shots will come out fine, some were “experimental” as i’ve never shot photos at night before and also had the problem of finding it difficult to focus the camera correctly at night.

I have a very similar camera to that. I love the EOS range. I think mine is a 300 though, not 3000. I bought it a couple of years ago and it is a very good camera but I don’t use it a lot anymore because its just not as practical and inexpensive as the digital. Still, very good choice!

You’ll love it! I have the EOS 5 and 50 and although digital has taken over my photography in recent times, I still use these cameras.
Look forward to your piccies!

Claire – I got my first film developed today and I am pleased with the results (which over time will of course be posted) including time exposure at night which was until last night a new experience for me.
Chicky – I’m already wanting to buy more bits to go with it. There was a tripod last night for time exposure shots at night and now i want a telescopic lense. Today’s picture in my photoblog is the first photo i took with my new camera too
