As I mentioned in my earlier post, it was dinner with friends at Hogs Breath and thats what happened. I started off in fine form drinking and the food was superb but then something happened. Dessert. It was a hot slice of mudcake with cream and vanilla ice cream that tasted superb but somehow lodged in my stomach in a manner that mean i ceased to be able to drink much which in itself was unfortuate since it was New Years and in light of recent personal events seemed the most logical thing to do.
Anyway, drinking ability inpaired it was never the less after dinner time to head out to the waterfront where none of us drank that much, got rained on and saw the midnight fireworks. I raised drinks to various people at various times including Chickybabe’s alloted midnight cheer. After that it was a downhill slide and I was home in bed before 2am.
The one thing that i did learn from the night was that i need to be able to fake an accent. Moose’s cousin from Denmark was here (complete with Danish accent) and all he had to do was speak and he seemed to be able to pick up at will as the girls swooned at the accent. I’m not sure what thats all about but i don’t have an accent and i certainly didn’t pick up. When last we saw cousin it appeared he was going to be heading off to further diplomatic relations between our two great nations, also known as getting laid. Me on the otherhand, i don’t remember what to say to a girl after hello.

Happy NY, Greg! I toasted you a glass of bubbly at midnight while watching the fireworks!

Why thank you for taking the time while cooking in the heat. I was not so sophesticated and only toasted you with draft beer but hey - it was alcoholic none the less!
