The one day cricket has moved to Perth (West Australia) for a couple of matches in the current series and at present its Australia vs Sri Lanka with Australia doing well which means I haven’t had to yell at the tv very much compared to recent matches where a considerable amount of what yelled isn’t suited to publication on my blog. Adam Gilchrist is playing well and its always a joy to watch when he is firing on all cylinders.

As part of the coverage they occassionally show scenes outside of the ground looking out over Perth and surrounds which is something i remember well. For those not aware I have twice lived in Perth when transferred through my job and its a place I love, not quite as much as my home town but just about. I found it infinitely liveable and pleasant, and while after the second time i was busting to get home to Suzi, i was never the less sorry to leave and to be honest seeing some of Perth today i admit to a bit of a pang of homesickness as silly as it sounds.

Now i think about it, Bindi is heading back next weekend to visit her family. She actually asked me to go over with her and the more that i think about it, the better the idea it seemed but of course work would never have let me have the time off. One can at least dream! Must remember to wish her a happy trip!
