I’ve noticed a tendancy of late that frankly has me a little off balance. For the most part i like to think of myself as free thinking and easy going but by the same token i have certain boundries that i stay within.

I have always been of the habit of giving female friends a kiss on the cheek when we are going our seperate way. The cheek because its friendly but not intimate like the lips are but of late I’ve noticed that more often than not my female friends and i are kissing on the lips. I’m aiming for the cheek and they are turning the head to hit the lips. At first i just thought oops, my aim was off but now it seems as if they have all got together in some kissing comittee and decided to mess with my mind that they will all make sure i hit the lips not the cheek.

So now i find myself wondering what the etiquette is for friends kissing actually is. For me its always been cheeks for friends and lips for those “more than friends” - when the bride at the wedding planted a quick kiss in the farewell phase it was disconcerting. I just suppose i should be grateful it wasn’t the groom!
