Isn’t todays modern society wonderful. Once upon a time we had to go all the way to the video shop to rent a movie, now thanks to the seemingly plentiful supply of online video rental places i can sit here on the same sofa i update from and rent movies. Many movies. More movies than you can probably ever see.
Crrumbling to the social pressure to conform (and the fact that there was money involved), last week i joined WebFlicks and sat down to pick the movies i wanted. Now i don;t know about you but for me, there are heaps of movies i want to see but when asked i am stuffed if i can remember what they are. So in one way these types of sites are great because i just need to flick through their pages and pick the movies i want to put on my list. Then thanks to the magic of the online rental place they post me the movies that i want to see. Sounds easy right?.
I’ve spent many hours of my life so far flicking through the various genres of movies to find the movies i want to see. So far there are around 250 on my list and i am not even part way through the 114 pages listing dramas and i’m too scared to go near comedy. Its just frightening. Naturally as soon as i pick the movie i want to see it NOW. I don’t want to wait for it to come up in the system to send to me, I want it now now now. Patience is not my virtue and i think in this respect i am better suited to physical movie rental stores.
And does it work? Well actually it does. I am able to have three movies out at one time and i have received my movies. I guess that its obvious that the reason i have the theme to Firefly stuck in my mind was that i rented the first dvd via WebFlicks which turned out to be a quirky, humourous western in space. If everyone could pray to the gods of Webflicks that i get the second dvd before anything bad happens.
