So i’m back from Melbourne, in fact last night but despite having caught up with most of my friends blogs I haven’t been motivated to do an entry. The trip to Melbourne was good and enjoyable with great weather and it was great to get to catch up my with Belinda with whom i stayed for the weekend. Some of the other highlights were getting out and about to look at the city and take photos, eating at the hard rock cafe and the magnificent views from Arthurs Seat. Melbourne was very much in the grip of its pre commonwealth games frenzy. Everywhere i went there was the signage and similar that appears to be designed to make sure people don’t forget the games are on. Not much chance but still, just in case.
Also of benefit was having a sister that works for the airline i flew. She accessed my flights and made sure i was in the best seats on the plane with maximum leg room and no one sitting next to me. Both ways i was the only one in my row.
The only downside to the whole trip was in the city itself. I found walking on the footpath people were rude and unwilling to give ground. People, you do not require to be spread out the whole footpath and unwilling to make room for someone coming the other way. Similarly i’ll normally hold a door open for someone or wait to let someone through, no one said thank you. But then i found that last time i was in sydney too so the big two cities are the same in that respect.

Yeah, they’re like that here in Melbourne… coming from a country “city” you notice how much more polite they are away from here… I must say that in Adelaide, the drivers are so much more courteous and patient!! I should move to Adelaide!!!
