I was watching when one of my team brought their son in to the office when he was dropped off at the end of the day. She had bought him his first pair of footy boots and she gave them to him there and then. His natural joy and excitement was refreshingly enjoyable as he tore around the office in his new boots, knocking down a partition that has since never looked the same since.
While not wanting to equate her son with a dog, the same sort of excitement could be attributed to dogs in that they wear their emotions on their paws. Whether its the joy of it being dinner time, the chance for a walk or ride in the car, or even the simple pleasure of them getting excited after not having seen you all day. Its so refreshingly uplifting to have the naked emotion shown.
So now i find myself wondering, why do we hide our emotions away being the mature way of doing things keeping them guarded instead of letting other people know what we are feeling and leave that for the domain of the young with footy boots and the dogs. Its strange.
Footnote: Apparantly she has had great difficulty getting the boots off his feet as he wants to wear them everywhere, even when sleeping.
