No its not an april fool joke, i’ve missed the chance for them for this year. I thought with the sudden end of the extended summer and the forcast of snow and generally weather unpleasantness that me and my camera should be right in the middle of it. It was a good theory.
So i went up the mountain where the snow was. At the 720 metre mark the road was closed for safety reasons and the snow was 3 kilometres further up the road. Thinking to myself that 3 km isn’t really far to walk, i headed up the road. What i had failed to consider was the fact that the 3 km up the road also climbs around 300 metres and by the time i got that far up the road the old legs were tired and sore (still are today!). I think some of the photos i got were good although with the view finder and my glasses fogging up, some may end up being a little off.

(Not one of the proper photos, just from my camera phone)
I was thinking as i walked to the freshly fallen snow that i felt a little like Neil Armstrong, the first person to be walking there. With the road closed there were no other people that had made the walk as far as i had and it was nice to be able to have so much space.
I went back today with the road open life was much easier. More photos too !
