On saturday an Australian Soldier was killed in Iraq and his body was due to arrive back in Australia for a funeral with full honours but along the way something went wrong.
The body of Private Jake Kovco, the first member of the Australian forces to die in Iraq, was due to arrive at Melbourne airport early Thursday ahead of a funeral with full military honours. Instead, the body of another soldier, believed to be Bosnian, was flown from Kuwait.
If its not bad enough that the family has gone through hell already in a very public expression of grief and media attention and this level of incompetence and lack of care. According to to the article a private contractor is to blame:
"It appears … something happened between him being identified in the civilian mortuary and his transfer then to the commercial flight back to Australia," Dr Nelson said."
I think its all very sad and awful. They need to get their act together and get the deceased home where he belongs, and give his family some closure from the horror of this experience.

the problem with australian defense force is it is too large for a country with our population and all equipment is substandard. the aussie soldier died from a browning 9mm which was designed 80 years ago, couldnt have happened with a glock or sig, the steyr is a joke as well a noodle gun the barrel can soften and its the only assult weapon i know that has a slide as a safety switch so stupid. Reduce the defense force to highly specialised highly trained fast moving forces with cutting edge weaponry, equipment and vehicles.
