Most lunch times on a workday i go for a walk, as much to stretch my legs as to buy lunch. Admitedly I could just go accross the road from work to the shop and buy the lunch there but through a long story i believe that the name of the shop should be Salmonella rather than its actual name. Its a bakery and some of the food in the glass counter at the front doesn’t so much get placed there prior to sale as takes out a long term lease its there for so long. If i do buy food from there then i always buy something that they have to make fresh rather than something thats been sitting around for a long time, possibly decades.
So most lunchtimes i go for a walk and mostly i find myself passing through the city mall at one point or another. Its a haven for street performers as they attempt to make money from the passing lunchtime crowds. Occassionally there are musicians and the like that are quite talented but on average they turn out to be anything but talented. And then in the school holidays there is at least one child with a violin that rather than playing is making it howl like an animal being tortured. I feel sorry for the good performers because every time there is money being given, its always to the crap kid seemily to encourage the child to keep going. If i am giving money to a child of that standard then the only encouragement i am likely to give is to encourage them to bugger off. Its the kindest things for everyone’s ears … and that tortured animal.
