The big news alert button has been pressed at PayPerPost once again and it means for blogs owners there could be some pretty big news coming in the near future.
For those not aware of what PayPerPost is, let me explain. PayPerPost provides consumer generated advertising which means instead of companies spending big money on advertising programs, they instead use PayPerPost and have multiple advertisements with links generated back to their sites and not only is the buzz generated, there is also a helping hand with SEO generating links to their site and (hopefully) ultimately both more traffic and a higher page ranking on their site. For bloggers, PayPerPost is good news as it can provide a good source of income as well.
So what is the big news coming? I am honestly not sure. For me the big (and bad news) has already arrived with Segmentation which allows advertisers to pick eligible bloggers by page rank, location and a heap of other attributes. Despite 80% of my readers coming from the USA it meant that since I am an Aussie a sizeable proportion of the available opportunities automatically ruled me out . Nasty.
But the big news? I am guessing after reading the PPP blog post Important Post to read for Posties has something to do with the big news. I am speculating that they are going to be improving advertisersbang for their buck with improved ratings for bloggers that may also mean a good post pays more than a poorly written or rushed post. If that be the case then I am hoping they also increase the time allowed from accepting a post to it having to be posted. A large post of say 200 words takes me almost the allowed time.
But whatever the news, bring it on. Just let me have a paid post about it!
