I don’t know about anywhere else but when it comes to news its saturation levels of reporting on the break up of Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton. Falling firmly into the category of I don’t care, its never the less been forced down throats including big bold banner headlines today. But here is my opinion, its a lucky escape for her.
Its long been my opinion that Britain’s royal family has to be one of the most disfunctional families. Keeping the stiff british upper lip the family seems at least tfrom the outside to be devoid of any human feelings towards, hardly a healthy environment to be sure which is something i noticed going back all the way to the death of diana. And then there is their often weird behaviour and ability to put their foot in it, the signs of inbreeding with the other royal families of Europe (like Charles ears for example). I also inadvertantly managed to take in the snipet that one of the reasons the split might have happened was that Kate’s mother might have been too common (oh the horror of it all) calling a toilet a toilet instead of a lavatory or something. The horror, the scandal. The crap. Lucky there was a handy toilet.
I must admit i am also confused by the facination with the Royal family anyway. I am a republican and see the Royal family as a throwback to centuries ago when they were the rulers of the country in a feudal society. Those times are past yet by luck of birth they manage to still live their lives as one of privledge although their job of actually ruling has changed to figurehead.
