I discovered a brand new skill that i never knew that i had. Its completely unmarketable as far as i can tell but hey, surely there is some where on my resume that i can slot it.
I spent most of my day driving to or from the major agricultural show, known as Agfest, for the state. In between the three hour drive there and back i wandered around the show looking at stuff. It wasn’t all agricultural by any means but there was a catch. Ten minutes after i arrived there was an extreme weather warning advising stall holders to batten down everything because, well because there was an extreme weather warning. And thats pretty well the way that it stayed for the rest of the day.
Now the interesting thing about the show is that it is on purpose designed land. While there are some big sheds and facilities, tmost of the exhibitors are in tents and the roads between are packed gravel which from past years works just fine. But there is something about packed gravel and heavy rain is this. When it gets soaked packed gravel is just mud with stones in it. And you start slipping and sliding and getting mud on yourself.
And that basically sums up my trip to Agfest. I only took a couple of photos because i wasn’t taking my camera out in the rain. I am just glad i went on the first day because by day three if the weather continues like this then the carparks are going to be quicksand. Entertaining to watch when people come back to look for their car but not if it was my own.
