It was a year today since:
Todd Russel and Brant Webb were freed after spending 321 hours trapped underground and reading back on my entry about it on the day. It was an uplifting day and one that i will not forget any time soon.

I remember that day. I truly did not think those two were going to come out alive. How amazing that they lived to tell the tale.
The only thing that dissapoints me, is that the rescuers, who were the true hero’s of the day, barely rate a mention. They risked their own lives and most people, myself included, don’t even know their names.

Steph - me either. It was an incredible day and i remember sitting up the night before in bed watching the news updates to see if it was going to happen!.
I hear you with the names of the rescuers, they are the heroes rather than Webb and Russel risking their lives to free them. But even then your not covering the full range of people that participated not only in getting them out but keeping them alive. I remember talking about it with one of the Dietitians in the hospital. They had sat down to work out what the guys should be given to eat and drink and i am sure there are countless other people involved that we don’t think or know of.
