I braved the risk of the movie cinema neighbours yesterday to see Spiderman 3. Going to a lunchtime session on a workday meant that there was not the crowds of other times.
The actual movie was as expected and picked up from the previous movie. It starts with Peter Parker and Spiderman being on top of the world. He is in love with Mary Jane and Spiderman is getting recognised for his service for the city. The seemingly perfect existance comes crashing down when he learns that his uncles real killer was still at large and to top things off his former friend Harry Osborn comes seeking revenge for his father’s death. At the same time Peter becomes bound with a strange black symbiotic substance that unleashes a darker side.
I won’t ruin the rest but there are some exciting moments of action sequences and special effects but it was undermined by some really corny moments and overall its overly slow and I found myself looking at my watch more than once during some of he slower moments. Compared to the first two movies it was disappointing and while its an ok action movie you can do better.

Raimi… go home and let Guillermo del Toro (pan’s labyrinth) make a better Spiderman 3
