I am having a bit of an adventure in the unknown here this afternoon. Some months ago i bought a second hand Apple G4/400 with the intention of learning how to use an Apple and for the curiosity value also. Then i left it in its box for 8 months or so and kept a couple of pallets of soft drink cans on top because thats what you do with a potential new experience, leave a pallet of drinks on it and forget about it.
Having walked by the computer section of JB Hi Fi where i noticed they were selling not only Windows PCs and laptops but also the equivalent in the Apple range. Remembering what is under my soft drinks I thought i should give it a go. And then forgot about it again with it still in its box.
Grabbing a drink today i again remembered it was dwelling below the cans and moved the cans, unpacked the computer and set it up. And here i am blogging on it now.
My initial reaction was that its ok but the stupid round one button mouse had to go. So my Microsoft laser mouse is now connected the apple and i am finding that much easier than the dumb one button round thing. Using it is easy and it has Firefox installed so to that extent i am ok but i haven’t actually worked out to do much like say install stuff and the like which i am thinking is at some point going to be important for … stuff.
Other than that – seems ok so far!
