Over the last month i have had an interesting and new experience on this blog. People want to advertise here on my blog and suddenly they are asking me how they can advertise here and approaching me to find things like how they go about it on my blog. My response is that i want them to use Text Link Ads because it is quick and easy to manage from my perspective and doesn’t distract me from why i am here, to blog.
But it got me thinking, i have 2 1/4 years of posts on this blog which makes a lot of content to appeal to a wide range so from a logical perspective i can understand why but from an emotional perspective it is a bit of a thrill. Its the idea that my work is worth something in financial terms. Its a thrill, its … well, its hard to explain what it feels like but its kind of cool in a weird kind of way.

G’day mate, I like the layout of your blog. I’m kinda new to this blogging stuff, been doing it about three months, but the templates on Blogger all seem to have the blog on the middle bit with a large margin either side of the page.
Your one is good because it uses the whole page, so you can get heaps of stuff in here without it being too confusing and cluttered.
I haven’t really looked into customising mine much yet and am in no real hurry, but coming across yours highlighted this one factor which I can see is quite different to mine.

Hi Tex, thanks for visiting. Blogging is something you can learn on the job. The trick is just keep doing it.
I don’t have a lot of experience with Blogger as this is a WordPress blog but as well as the standard range of templates you can find in your blogger account there are also a number of places that provide free themes for download and use so i guess its a matter of searching for the one you like.
