So this is the year 2008. Happy New Year to all of you dear readers.

My original plans for new years involved avoiding all chance of being even remotely close to the celebrations as the opportunity to avoid being around drunk crowds on a hot night is appealing as there are always better plans than that.

But then the thought that perhaps spending new years eve on my own got the best of me and so the idea of spending time with friends became attractive so i headed into the city for time with friends. I guess i am a victim to the whole idea that new years shouldn’t be treated like any other day and sitting at home is the sign of a looser.

So at midnight there i was celebrating on the water front on the hot night with drunken crowds, just like i wasn’t going to do. That is progress for you i guess but at least while miserable amongst the hordes I wasn’t feeling like a looser on my own. Or something.
