I see tonight that there are many people upset about the death of Heath Ledger and it is sad to see one so young dead. There is no shortage of links to stories about his death, glowing pieces on how good his work was and how he was linked to this drug or that drug in speculation capitalizing on the buzz around the news.

But the trouble with a death of a star is everyone gets distracted from everything else and while it is a tragedy of which you will get no argument from me, there are many more tragedies going on every day that will get lost in the crowd as the focus shifts to the celebrity who by the very nature of their career is famous in death as they were in life. One in particular tonight touched my heart that there is a Suicide crazy linked to a social networking site where so far 7 young people have committed suicide to gain prestige amoungst their peers. Friends set up memorial pages and tributes are posted to the deceased which its speculated they think it cool to have a memorial page after their death. As i said, a tragedy.

There are many more, you don’t have to look far so while Heath is gone, there are many more to be saved.
