I for one am excited to read that in the early hours of the morning here that Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia and is moving towards being its own nation.

Who can forget some of the shocking images that came out of the splintered Yugoslavia as civil war broke out along ethnic and religious grounds that saw civilians massacred and displaced. I read something earlier today that said over half the population is under the age of 25 years which is staggering to say the least.

I’m happy to see that Australia is backing the independence and will be giving it official diplomatic soon. An exciting time.
