I had the misfortune of renting Gabriel last night and while i lasted through to the end it was a bit of a battle.
The movie tells the story of the battle between good and evil in purgatory where Arc (good) and Fallen (evil) for the control of the city and the souls of its residents. At the time of the story evil has the upperhand and Gabriel arrives as last of the Arc angels to fight to return light and good to the city.
Or something like that.
I found the movie for the most part to be slow and tiresome, mainly as Gabriel struggled with his now human status and tried to save his former Arc allies who are fighting their own personal battles. Yes evil was in control but even then there is only so much darkness before you get sick of it. It borrowed from the likes of the Matrix and similar movies in a lost of respects rather than producing its own original feel to it.
Recommendation: If you really want to see it then wait until its on tv. Or weekly at the video store.
