After the extreme weather that we had the paper carried front page a large picture of a dust storm near Jericho in the midlands and while by Saturday it was long gone, i wanted to have a look at the area to see what it looked like and how bad it was for myself.
Let me say, i was shocked to see just how bad the drought had hit that part of the world with sparse paddocks and bare dirt to be seen everywhere.

Along that road i also discovered that in parts it was a picturesque part of the country with a glorious old homestead and scenery to be seen. And then there is the ruins in the picture above with crumbling walls. But as the photo shows with the dusty sparse hill behind them, it has also opened my eyes just how much the drought has been hitting and next time they mention the drought, i will have seen it for myself. And it is bad.
